How many casinos are operating in Illinois?
Illinois has 17 IGB-authorized physical casinos operating across 16 municipalities. Sixteen use owners licenses; Fairmount Park Casino & Racing is the only operating organization-gaming facility and racino. Bally’s Chicago, American Place and Fairmount Park currently operate from temporary facilities, and Hollywood Casino Aurora moved to 2500 N. Farnsworth Ave. on June 24, 2026. Casino gambling areas and wagering are 21+, and casino bets are placed in person. This roster does not authorize online casino play, a VGT location, sportsbook wagering or any specific game.
