Ohio Gambling Age 2026: 18+ vs 21+ by Product
Ohio does not use one universal gambling age. Traditional Lottery tickets, horse-race wagering, fantasy contests and licensed bingo are 18+, while commercial casino gaming, racino VLTs and every regulated form of Ohio sports gaming covered here are 21+.
The exact product controls. A racino can contain an 18+ racing product and 21+ VLT or sportsbook products, while a venue or operator may apply additional access and identification rules. Age eligibility never proves that a website or product is licensed in Ohio.

How old do you have to be to gamble in Ohio?
As of July 17, 2026, Ohio uses different minimum ages by product. Traditional Lottery tickets, pari-mutuel horse-race wagering, fantasy contests and licensed bingo are 18+. Commercial casino gaming, racino VLTs and all regulated Ohio sports gaming are 21+. A racino can therefore contain an 18+ racing product and 21+ VLT or sportsbook products. Meeting an age threshold does not prove that a website, venue or product is licensed, available or legal, and a venue may impose stricter access rules.

Why an Ohio racino can have both 18+ and 21+ rules
A racino is a mixed-product property. The building name does not determine the age; the user must identify the exact wager and the area in which it occurs.
